THE RENEWAL OF ST JAMES THE LESS - RESTORATION & DEVELOPMENT : PDF Print E-mail

Why is this work necessary?

Good Stewardship:

St James the Less, built in 1861 and designed by GE Street, is a fantastic example of Gothic revival architecture and a Grade 1 Listed Building. However, it is in a poor state of repair. Essential cleaning and renovation is needed now to restore the building to its true glory, inspiring people to worship God afresh.

Reshaping:

Improving space and opportunity in the Parish Rooms. Access for people with disabilities, adequate toilets, meeting rooms, a suitable kitchen, and good space for the Open Door Community Meal are just some of the areas where improvement is vital both now and for the future.

Celebration:

150th Anniversary is fast approaching! - a time to thank God for his faithfulness and celebrate hope for the future.

Financial support: Architects, Surveyors, Stone specialists and many other experts need to be paid for their work. If you would like to make a donation you can do so online or by post.

To give online simply click on the following link and make a donation through our partners justgiving

http://www.justgiving.com/sjtl

As a UK taxpayer, your gift can be Gift Aided at no extra cost to you. This way the government will augment what you donate by approximately 30%.

To find out more about supporting the project or for a Gift Aid form contact Carrie Harvey

To give by post
Make your cheque out to "St James the Less", and send it with a covering letter and Gift Aid Form if appropriate to:
Rev Richard Dormandy,
St James the Less Parish Office,
Thorndike Street,
Off Moreton Street,
London, SW1V 2PT

Prayer support: is key. So come along to St James on Tuesdays 12.30 - 1pm to meet together with others from the congregation in prayer.

We will be updating this site regularly as we continue to meet with planners, Architects, Heritage Societies and local community groups.

The Project Manager, Esther Broughton, welcomes any questions you might have. Contact her on esther.broughton@sjtl.org
